Certified ASD Clinical Specialist
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, native Spanish speaker, and child of immigrants raised in South Central Los Angeles. I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology from Mills College in 2014 and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2016. I have practiced psychotherapy in community mental health, school, and private settings.
In our therapeutic relationship, trust and safety are cultivated through client-centered and trauma-informed approaches.
I collaborate with clients to identify their goals or expectations for therapy, while candidly exploring any fears or reservations they may have about therapy. Deciding to come to therapy can be a challenging step to take, especially if we have internalized the stigma around mental health that exists within our families and communities. I see my clients as individuals existing within intersecting systems of oppression that impact their lives every day. I meet clients where they are in the present moment, no matter the stage of change they are in.
